The objective was to update the look of the Masthead News, a community newspaper serving the St. Margaret’s Bay area.

I started with an update to the print layout by updating the font styles, selecting a bolder headline font and an easy to ready font for the main body copy. Secondly, I created a new logo in a font similar to the headline font in a bold rich red to be attention grabbing. The ship illustration (an element of the logo since the paper’s inception) was updated with a more realism and a more dynamic angle.

Create a new logo and label for Plumb Clean, a natural environmentally friendly drain cleaner sold at hardware retailers.

The goal was to create a bright brand and label to stand out on a store shelf among many other drain cleaning products. The project included creating three illustrations showing in three steps how the product works to clear slow drains.

To celebrate it’s 10th anniversary the Seniors Association of St. Margaret’s Bay wanted to freshen their brand image.

I began with redesigning the logo and choosing brighter colours for their branding. Second was the website which is a cleaner easier to navigate layout.
